Day 10 of 30 Days Wild – Grass Seed and Sticky Weed πŸŒΎ

I thought we were in for another very short post-work/nursery #RandomActOfWildness today, but alas the kids didn’t fall asleep and the common by our house proved very fruitful!

Life Unexpected

Our first discovery was sticky weed. I’m not sure what it’s proper name is, but that weed that, erm, sticks to you! So we had some fun sticking it to each other and I showed Pip that it sticks with tiny hooked spikes that look like hairs.

We then noticed some grass seed heads, and on further inspection discovered 5 different types! By this point Pip was running around like a nutter waving the poker-like one around! But Bee was really into having a good look and feel (and taste!) of the various types.

And then Mr Casanova Pip picked some buttercups and exclaimed:

Pip: “I picked these lovely flowers for you Mummy. They’re very nice and beautiful. You can share them with Bee and take them home!” 🌼

He can be such a sweetheart! Being outdoors brings the best out in both of them πŸ™‚

  1. Hee hee, we call it Sticky Willy too, although I’ve noticed people calling it Sticky willow nowadays?! Latin is Galium Aparine. πŸ™‚ Looks like you’re having lots of fun outdoors and how sweet is little Pip, love that he wanted to give you and his little sister buttercups. I’m finally over hayfever this summer, so I no longer need to be scared of grass being waved around any more, will have to let my boys go into meadows again!
Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather πŸ™‚ x

I hate sticky weed haha. My friends and I used to try and stick it on each others school jumpers everyday for fun. But it got quite annoying really quickly. I never noticed and used to go around with it on my back all day haha. Oh my gosh that picture of them at the end is soooooo cute and your little one is so sweet to pick you both some pretty buttercups! Thank you so much for linking up to #whatevertheweather x
